مقدمه ای بر روش های طیف سنجی برای شناسایی ترکیبات آلی (An Introduction to Spectroscopic Methods for the Identification of Organic Compounds)، جلد 2 جنبه‌های نظری و برخی کاربردهای روشهای طیف‌سنجی برای شناسایی ترکیبات آلی را پوشش می‌دهد. این کتاب از 10 فصل تشکیل شده است و با مقدمه ای بر تعیین ساختار از روی طیف سنجی جرمی آغاز می شود. فصل بعدی برخی از مسائل مربوط به طیف سنجی جرمی و پاسخ ها را ارائه می کند. این ارائه با بحث هایی در مورد مشکلات مربوط به کاربرد طیف سنجی UV و طیف سنجی NMR دنبال می شود. ذر نهایت این کتاب به برخی پیشرفت‌ها در طیف‌سنجی NMR و توضیح فرمول ساختاری ترکیبات آلی با ترکیبی از روشهای طیفی پرداخته و روشهای شناسایی ترکیبات آلی با استفاده از طیف سنجی NMR، IR، UV و طیف‌سنجی جرمی را مورد بررسی قرار می‌دهد. مطالعه این هندبوک برای شیمیدانان آلی و کسانی که با تجزیه و تحلیل طیف ها سروکار دارند، مفید خواهد بود.
